Description The Kidde Hardwired Interconnectable Photoelectric Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Detector with AA Battery Backup and Hush Feature, model 900-CUAR, is a hardwired smoke alarm and carbon monoxide detector combo. It connects to your home’s wiring (120V AC power), with 2-AA batteries (included) that provide backup in case of power failures. The Kidde Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarm is equipped with self-testing components that are always checking the unit to ensure the device is operating as expected*. The smoke detector and CO alarm is capable of hardwired interconnection to other select Kidde alarms for whole-home activation ? when one alarm sounds, they all do**. The Kidde Smoke & Carbon Monoxide alarm uses photoelectric sensors that detect visible fire particles associated with slow smoldering fires, as well as an electrochemical carbon monoxide sensor, which offers accurate readings of CO. The test-hush button alows testing of the alarm, while the hush button allows for temporary silence of the alarm when a nuisance, or “false” alarm sounds from events like routine cooking or shower steam. When the alarm is nearing its end of life, it will begin to chirp. Place a smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector on each level of your home, in hallways, and inside each bedroom.
