Description Amret single malt whisky’s carefully selected non-peated barley is irrigated by the water of the Sutlej River, which is collected by the melting snow in the Himalayas, to produce barley with a rich flavor and unique quality. It is also the only winery in Asia that uses its own barley as the raw material for distilled spirits. Peat barley is sourced from Scotland. The new 46% Amruts are radically different from the delightful but not exciting original. At higher intensity, this 24 ppm of peat sizzles along the taste buds. It’s very good – the hugely improved stuff from the distillery has come by leaps and bounds.
